Keila Alleyne, a Boston native, is a professional makeup artist also with techniques in hairstyling. Keila was trained at Makeup designory in New York City for the Fashion Makeup artistry program and also has a background in esthetics and spa sciences. She lived in New York City for two years, where she did most of her freelance work and learned so much about the makeup industry.

From her earliest memory, she could always be found playing with her mother’s makeup, who is a natural beauty and also has a love for cosmetics and fashion, which instilled inspiration in Keila ” I remember so many times, my mother and I would go to the convenience store and she always knew that I would go straight for the cosmetics aisle. I was so fascinated by all the colors, the pretty packaging and there were so many brands.”

Keila was so fascinated when she first saw the music video “Waterfalls” by TLC, and loved the makeup and discovered that Billy b was the makeup artist who created these amazing makeup looks. ” I was practically in tears when I met him at the NYC Makeup Show in 2006, and he also gave me some great advice on a recent photo shoot I worked on. I was so grateful for his advice and encouragement.”

Keila is greatly inspired on the role makeup artistry plays in fashion, music videos, TV and film as she continues to perfect her craft, learning new techniques. Part of her aspiration of becoming a makeup artist, was drawn from seeing beautiful, amazing and talented women as Beyonce, Alicia Keys, Aaliyah, Dorothy Dandridge and Josephine Baker.  Keila has utilized her expertise in fashion, commericial, print and film projects, such as: Lily Artist Management, TONN Model Management, Essence magazine, Dumbo NYC bikini show featuring finalists of ” America’s Next Top Model”, The House of Muses, Black Hair Sophisticate magazine, X-Ray Jeans campaign ad, Leroy Jenkins Limited, 48hr Film Project, Boston Fashion Expose, also working with celebrity makeup artists Deshawn Hatcher and Janice Kinjo.

The name ” The Key to Beauty” came from being called ” Kei” or ” Key” since she was a child by family and close friends. Which is why she always wears the key around her neck, the same key she wore when she was in makeup school.

Keila is a creative, innovative, hardworking and dedicated individual who offers her clients a fresh and fashionable look.

Keila’s education and training along with her passion for her craft makes her an accomplished makeup artist.
