This is a beautiful untitled poem by Kaneko Ikeda that I wanted to share:
” Glad to be just who I am, may I never forget to keep a smile as refreshing as a spring breeze on my face, to shine with a summer sun of hope, to pursue wisdom while conversing with the autumn moonlight, and to be a person who sparkles with the purity of new fallen snow. “

She was so amazing…. The highest….the most exalted….. She inspired me to go for my dreams…. Her music videos with such beautiful makeup…. I was always checking to see what she would come out with next….. It was so clear to me on how makeup plays a huge role….. She was the dopeness…. Rest in peace…..

So this was a fun shoot….. Really laid back…
It was a combo of black & white film and the jeans would be in color….. gotta love it!!
Justine was so cool enough to ask me to work with her on this shoot, when we met at a X-Mas party, all we talked about was buddhism & makeup the whole night! Lol!
I first worked on Isabella, brunette, with the creamy like Dove soap complexion…. who was so sweet and thought that I was a model! Next up was Guiliana, with the long blonde curls, who had on these ripped jeans that I wanted to take from her, they were so cute! Then there was Henry, who looks like he should be walking in a Sean John fashion show.
So, for the girls, it was just a clean complexion, big lashes with lots of mascara and a dark lip. For Henry, I applied primer and a very tiny amount of base.
I’m loving the X-Ray line, saw a couple of jackets that I wanted too…. I left there feeling exhausted & fullfilled…… can’t wait to do it again!!!

Okay……… so I hear it’s gonna be a scorcher this weekend, so I had to pass on my knowledge of summer makeup tips, so here are some of my suggestions:
Using an oil-free primer on clean skin, would put you on a good start, follow that with applying concealer( if needed). Next step would be to use tinted moisturizer with SPF. A cream or gel blush would be perfect since it’s not too heavy, but will still make an impact. Bronzers should be applied to cheekbones, temples, the bridge of the nose and chin. Sheer cream eyeshadows will work best so that they won’t crease. Water- resistant mascara gives you the effect of full lashes and their also smudge-proof. Tinted lip balms and sheer lipsticks work better in the heat, but if you LOVE lipgloss like me, you’ll still be rockin’ gloss in the heat, so to prevent the just ate some greasy food look, just apply less. Also, you may tend to sweat while you’re running around the City, so use blotting papers instead of applying more powder.
So in any case, less is more……try to stay cool, as I will be doing the same….
